On Thursday, I had the 8th grade prom. At the end of the prom, when we all hugged and things like that, I just couldn’t believe that I’ve been in the same class with most of my mates for almost 4 years. I can’t believe how fast the time goes by, as I still remember clearly my first day at my new school in the 5th grade.
When I came back home, I looked through pictures I had with some of my classmates (not all of the kids in my class were in this school since the 5th grade) back in December 2008. And, for the love of God - my reaction was “Are you serious, this is us 3 years and a half ago?!” I didn’t notice till then how much we grew up, how much we changed in those secondary school years. Even if we’re the same deliriously funny kids we were at 11 years old, the change is clear - we’re more mature, we’re interested in more than just video games and tell off each other of insignificant things…
Well, I didn’t really get along well with my classmates every day, but still they were the ones who made me laugh every day (staying in my own room with a cold is pure torture). And, I love them. For those 8 hours per day of jokes and support. They’re like a second family, I guess.
Now my only wish is for us to stay friends, even if some of us will stay in this school (my school has both a secondary school and a high school) and some of us will leave.
Because, after all, we were all part of class 8E, a class that is known for its academical achievements and not so academical moments =)).
We’ll be forever (with our hearts) in class 8E… or at least I will. ^^
Good riddance, secondary school years.
Sincerely, your freshmen-to-be,
-Ana.
